Speak aloud while the video is playing and try to explain what is happening. Mention the nouns, try to use the correct verb and see where your gaps are!
We see Pink Panther lying on a bench holding a water bottle. He looks freezing/ super cold!
He pours ice out of the water bottle. (POUR OUT)
He walks down the street and sees a fire lit inside one of the houses. (WALK DOWN)
He decided to open the window and climb inside to get warmed up! (WARM UP)
He goes over/heads over to the fire and warms his hands and bum. (GO/HEAD OVER)
He sees lots of/ loads of animal heads on the walls of the house and finally sees a picture of the hunter with his dog.
He hears that someone is coming and quickly grabs a statue of a panther and takes its place.
The hunter and dog walk in and walk past Pink Panther.
The dog comes back as he smells something.
He goes/heads over to Pink Panther and starts sniffing around (SNIFF AROUND/ SMELL AROUND)
He then starts barking.
Pink Panther smacks/ hits him on the head to get him to be quiet.
The hunter tries to prove to the dog that the panther is definitely dead by pointing at the time he was stuffed.
He also takes a stick and starts whacking/ hitting the panther to prove that he’s dead.
The dog then tries, but afterwards, Pink Panther takes the stick and hits/ whacks/ wallops the dog!
This makes the dog go crazy/ nuts/ mental/ bananas!
The dog convinces the hunter to take another look but Pink Panther quickly grabs the old panther and swaps/ switch him back. (SWAP/ SWITCH BACK)
The hunter proves once again that the statue is dead, but the dog rips it apart/ rips it to shreds because he believes he’s alive. (RIP APART)
The hunter hits/beats his dog with a rolled up newspaper.
The hunter comes in with a cooked chicken and sets it on the table. The dog is resting.
Pink Panther sees the chicken and nicks/ steals it by using a fishing rod before leaving the carcass back.
The hunter comes back into the room with some sauce only to find out that the chicken is gone. He assumes it was his dog, so he gives it another beating! (FIND OUT)
In the next scene, someone is running a bath. Pink Panther comes in, turns the tap off and jumps into the bath.
The hunter comes in and Pink Panther tries to hide by submerging himself in the bath.
The hunter turns the ‘hot’ tap back on and the bath gets so hot that Pink Panther can’t put up with it/ tolerate it any longer. (PUT UP WITH)
Pink Panther jumps out of the bath and runs out of the room. The hunter notices and follows. He sees the panther dripping wet and assumes the dog peed/ urinated on the statue. Once again, he punishes the dog. This time by kicking him out of the house. (KICK OUT)
Next, the dog is watching Pink Panther from outside and barks like crazy at him. Pink Panther is unfazed (not bothered) and walks over to the cozy spot by the fire. He took a seat and started reading the newspaper.
The hunter comes in, Pink Panther takes off, and the hunter sits in his armchair without noticing anything unusual. (TAKE OFF = run away/ escape)
The dog manages to find a way into the house and starts to sneak up on who he thinks is the Pink Panther. (SNEAK UP ON)
He then jumps over/ leaps over the chair and starts biting his owner. (JUMP OVER/ LEAP OVER)
When the dog realises who it is, he stops biting and starts kissing his owner. The owner then kicks him out again.
In the final scene, the dog sees Pink Panther about to go to bed and is furious. He gets into the house again to seek revenge! Pink Panther decides to get up and go and get himself a glass of water. While he’s away, the hunter comes into the room and gets into the bed. The dog comes into the bedroom with a gun and shoots his owner. His owner goes ballistic/ crazy/ mental and starts chasing him out the door shooting at him.
