Speak aloud while the video is playing and try to explain what is happening. Mention the nouns, try to use the correct verb and see where your gaps are!

We see a caveman trying to light a fire using two rocks. It doesn’t work for him, so he chucks/throws them away and gets a violin. He plays the violin and that starts the fire! (CHUCK AWAY = “Chuck” implies a more casual or careless action, while “throw” is more neutral and can imply a more deliberate effort.)

Next, we see 2 cavemen working on a chair/ throne/ seat made of stone. Once they complete it, they start arguing/ bickering/ fighting over who gets to sit in it. (BICKER Implies minor, often petty, disagreements and is less intense than a fight.

One of the cavemen comes up with an idea to settle their dispute/ argument– They will play a game of rock, paper, scissors, and the winner gets the chair. (COME UP WITH = TO CREATE OR THINK OF AN IDEA)

The green caveman tries to teach the red caveman and then they play for real. The problem is that they both are so stupid that they keep on choosing ‘rock’ and neither ends up winning! (KEEP ON = CONTINUE/ END UP = FINALLY OR IN THE END).

The red caveman is pissed/raging/ furious/ annoyed and is about to whack/hit/smack the green one. The green caveman quickly comes up with another idea though- He invents voting!

The cavemen both go into their respective voting booths, vote and put their voting slip/ ballots in the ballot box. They then empty out the slips and check the result- both of them voted for themselves! (EMPTY OUT)

The green caveman is putting up his own campaign poster. The red caveman rocks up/ pulls up on his primitive bike to see what he’s doing. The red caveman decides to do the same and even starts handing out flowers to the green one to sway/convince/persuade him to vote for him. It seems that they are both participating in a full-blown political campaign now as the green caveman is making a speech and the red one watches in the audience and cheers him on/ he is rooting for him! They go to the voting booths once again and deliver their votes. Of course they both voted for themselves and the contest is a tie.

(ROCK UP is an informal phrase meaning to arrive, often unexpectedly or without much planning. PULL UP implies a temporary stop, often for picking up or dropping off passengers, or for a brief pause. HAND OUT means distributing something to people, typically by hand.

The red caveman threatens the green one, so the green caveman comes up with another idea. He pulls/takes out some cash/money and tries to bribe the red one. The red one does the same, and they go back and forth bartering/ negotiating/ haggling/ bargaining until finally they reach an agreement. The green one accepts the offer of the red caveman’s club/ bat.

(“Bartering” refers to the act of negotiating over the price or terms of something, especially when buying or selling goods or services. It involves back-and-forth discussions aimed at reaching an agreement that satisfies both parties involved.)

Having made an agreement, they both go and vote again. This time, there is a clear winner! -The red caveman is over the moon and celebrates while the green caveman is chuffed with his new club. The red caveman sits in his throne happily. However, the green caveman sneaks/comes up (from) behind him with his bat and kills him to become the new king!
